Microsoft Amalga Unified Intelligence System (formerly known as Azyxxi) is a unified health enterprise platform designed to retrieve and display patient information from many sources, including scanned documents, electrocardiograms, X-rays, MRI scans and other medical imaging procedures, lab results, dictated reports of surgery, as well as patient demographics and contact information. Microsoft Amalga was part of a number of health-related products spun-off into a joint-venture with GE Healthcare called Caradigm.
Equiom was initially contracted by Microsoft when they initially acquired Azyxxi from Johns Hopkins University to perform technical due diligence on the acquired product, and to provide architectural direction on integrating the product into the Microsoft ecosystem, with special focus on how to rearchitect the product global non-US deployments. After completing an exhaustive assessment of the product, including extensive architectural code reviews, Microsoft contracted with Equiom to provide a team of engineering to apply the proposed architectural changes. Based on Equiom’s work, Microsoft was able to deploy the product internationally beyond the United States, including Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
