Management Team
The Equiom executive team has led the planning and development of several comprehensive
solutions to complex business problems in large scale deployments, employing such
technologies as Microsoft .Net, Web Services, e-Payments through automatic check
clearing networks and credit card networks, Embedded Applications, ERP integration,
developer tools, compilers, healthcare applications, and Windows desktop applications.
Our principals are considered industry thought-leaders, have sat on standards committees,
and have pioneered real-world implementations of cutting-edge technologies such
as the first application built with secure SOA for financial transactions.
Bassam Saliba
Chief Executive Officer
Bassam Saliba spent the last 19 years leading the design and development of large-scale,
complex, mission-critical systems. Prior to joining Equiom, Bassam was the VP of
Engineering for Scalix Corporation. Previously, Bassam was the co-founder and Chief
Technology Officer of Fidesic, where he pioneered an electronic invoice presentment
and payments (EIPP) platform. Before Fidesic, he spent 10 years at Microsoft in
various roles including the Group Manager for TransPoint, a technology venture between
Microsoft, Citibank, and First Data Corporation. Bassam has 16 patents filed - 6
issued, and brings extensive experience in business and technology, including strategy,
architecture, design, development, and project management. Bassam holds a B.S. in
Computer Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder, a M.S. in Software
Engineering from Seattle University, and has completed the EPGC program at Stanford
University.
John Yii
Chief Operating Officer
John Yii spent over 10 years at Microsoft where he managed projects for Windows
XP, MSN Money Central, Microsoft Passport, and the MSN Data warehouse and advertising
engines. John also served as the Director of Operations and Group Program Manager
for Fidesic Corporation where he led the design, development, and deployment of
the its flagship electronic invoice presentment and payment (EIPP) service for businesses.
John holds a Bachelor of Mathematics in Computer Science from the University of
Waterloo. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and
a Project Management Professional (PMP).
Saed Nashef
Chief Technology Officer
Saed Nashef brings 15 years experience in the software and hi-tech industry, with
track record of shipping over 11 commercial software applications. He provides key
know-how in planning and architecture, as well as technical leadership in implementation
of large scale engagements. Prior to founding Equiom, Saed led the design and development
of the core e-payment platform infrastructure at Fidesic. Before that Saed spent
6 years at Microsoft in various leadership roles in the development organization.
Most notable was his involvement in early thinking around Service Oriented Architecture
(SOA). Saed studied Computer Science at University of California in Long Beach.
Derek Buchfink
Development Manager
Derek Buchfink brings over 5 years of progressive and extensive software development
and consulting experience in the medical, biological, technology and insurance industries.
He has contributed to large-scale projects for companies such as Microsoft and the
Neuropsychiatric Research Institute. Prior to joining Equiom, Derek was a Technology
Consultant with Eide Bailly, LLP, where he led strategic consulting engagements
and software development projects. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from North
Dakota State University where he specialized in Bioinformatics. While at NDSU, he
founded and served as president of the university’s United Way chapter. Derek is
currently an MBA candidate at Seattle University.
Grace Dascoli
Director of Human Resources and Talent Acquisition
Grace Dascoli brings 13 years of progressive experience in Human Resources and Talent
Acquisition. Most recently Grace worked to develop and integrate global recruitment
strategies as a consultant. She has established an expertise in the technical and
scientific arenas with companies like McKesson, Amgen, IBM, Perot Systems and Stanford
University Hospitals to name a few. Grace serves as Equiom’s onsite Director of
Human Resources for Microsoft’s Bing Maps Division. She holds BA in Psychology
from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a concentration in Industrial Psychology.
Shannon Law
Director of Finance
Shannon Law brings 18 years of progressive experience in Accounting, Benefit Administration
and Operations Management. As the Director of Finance, she oversees full office
and financial operations for Equiom. Most recently she worked as an accounting and
operations consultant with a focus toward start-ups and not-for-profit companies.
She holds a BA in Organizational Management, Cum Laude, from Northwest University
in Kirkland, Washington.
